The BNB Chain Ecosystem

Method

• Source: BNB Smart Chain (chain id 56), read through the public endpoint published by BNB Chain, bsc-dataseed.bnbchain.org. Only finalized blocks are read, and each block is checked against the block before it and against its own transaction receipts before it is counted.
• Window: the 24 whole UTC hours ending at the time shown, with each block in the hour of its own timestamp. A figure appears only when every block in the window has been read and the window ended no more than two hours earlier.
• Network fees: for every transaction in the window, gas used multiplied by its effective gas price, from the transaction receipts, summed and shown in BNB.
• Transactions: every transaction in every block in the window, including system transactions, which pay no gas price.
• Average gas price: total network fees divided by total gas used in the window, shown in gwei (one billionth of a BNB). Gas used by transactions that pay no gas price, system transactions among them, is included, which lowers the average.
• Stablecoin supply: the totalSupply() of each of the five token contracts listed, read once each UTC hour at one finalized block and divided by 10 to the power of the contract's decimals(), then added together. A supply figure appears only when all five were read at one block no more than two hours earlier. The total counts tokens as the contracts report them; no price is applied. A token listed here may not be issued by the same party as a token of the same name on another network. BNB Standard does not assess any token's issuer, reserves or redemption.
• Daily charts: each bar is one UTC day whose 24 hours are all on file, summed from the same hourly block totals as the 24-hour figures. The charts show the 30 UTC days to the newest day on file, appear only when that day is no more than two days before the current UTC day and seven of the 30 days are on file, and leave a day without a complete record blank.
• BNB Standard keeps the hourly block totals and the contract readings behind each figure in its own database and files a record for each UTC day, building its own history.
